Who we are

Women Who Create Media was established by Lillian “Grace” Gattis during a key moment in her career in Houston's audio engineering field. In a mainly male industry, Lillian encountered challenges that revealed the lack of women in this space. Instead of giving up, she received valuable mentorship from the social media marketing head at a recording label.

With her passion for building online communities, shown through her carefully managed fan pages, Lillian adapted quickly. She learned to analyze target markets and developed strategies to promote artists and businesses effectively through platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. She also focused on engagement techniques to create lively online communities.

This experience fueled Lillian's desire to empower herself and others in the industry. Women Who Create Media embodies her commitment to connecting women creators, encouraging them to share their work authentically. It celebrates high-quality content that amplifies women's voices and contributions in a world that often overlooks them.

What’s Our Future

Women Who Create Media envisions a transformative future for women in the music industry. Acknowledging that one third of female recording artists face sexual harassment, our objective is to foster a safe and empowering environment for emerging female talent. By providing a dedicated space for creation, we aspire to eliminate the barriers they confront.

Additionally, with less than 2% of music producers being women, we recognize the urgent need to bridge this substantial gap. Our initiative includes establishing a STEM school for girls aged 8-18, focusing on critical fields such as civil engineering, music production, audio engineering, mathematics, architecture, and robotics.

Through education and support, we aim not only to uplift the voices of women in music but also to cultivate a new generation of female leaders in these vital industries. By equipping young women with the skills and confidence necessary to excel, we are committed to reshaping the future landscape of music and technology.
